Born a prince of the renowned Kalabari dynasty, trained as an aristocrat par excellence and bestowed with an uncommon wisdom from God, he has made his mark in different fields of endeavour. Though not lacking in a long list of accomplishments, he has chosen to take the road least travelled by leaving out accolades from his resume for the purposes of this web initiative.

His foray into politics was borne of a genuine need to serve, after experiencing firsthand the costly price of complacency in governance. It is this same zeal that has today etched his name in concrete in the Political annals of Nigeria, with his brazen decision to join forces with the present Rivers state government irrespective of party affiliations, casting aside political differences for the common good.

HIS VISION: The newriversstate.com  initiative is a platform Prince Tonye has chosen to use to acknowledge responsibility to the future. He believes that indigenes of the state through collaborative effort can begin now to map out strategies to ensure that immediate challenges of the Rivers man are addressed and resolved without compromising the future of our children. It is his dream that Rivers state will stand apart in the nation’s polity as “… a state with enormous opportunities...A state where every budding talent shall be given the opportunity to excel and aspire to greater heights, irrespective of ethnicity, religion and creed.”
