PRINCEWILL COMMISERATES WITH THE GOVERNMENT AND PEOPLE OF THE SOUTH-SOUTH OVER PORT HARCOURT STAMPEDE AS PPA CONGRATULATES GOV CHIBUIKE AMAECHI FOR A WELL DESERVED TICKET
Prince Tonye Princewill the Prince of Niger Delta Politics and the digital Leader of Princewill Political Associates (PPA) described the stampede during the PDP South-South Zonal rally in Port Harcourt on 12th January, 2011 that claimed the lives of some of our people as heartbreaking, sad, unfortunate, tragic but avoidable. He urged the relevant authorities to investigate the remote causes of the incident to avoid a reoccurrence. This is just beginning of the political campaign season so this must be the last incident we read of such sad incident of Nigerians losing their lives because of politics. As we pray for God to grant the souls of the departed eternal rest we pray that their families will be given the fortitude to bear their irreparable loss. We urge the people of the South-South to see this incident as one of those sacrifices the region has rendered for the future greatness of our country and evolution and growth of democracy in Nigeria. If we learn from the lessons of this ugly incident and avoid a repetition, we will all be stronger for it.
We need to commend the Rivers State Government for its immediate intervention through the peoples Governor of Rivers State, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Amaechi by not only visiting the mortuary and the Hospitals to commiserate with the bereaved families and ensuring that proper medical attention is given to those still in the hospitals by promising to offset their medical bills. The Rivers State Government Emergency Medical Services, the TIMARIV and the Police also need to be commended and congratulated for their quick response in evacuating the victims for immediate attention. We are proud of their efficiency and efficacy in this regard and wish that they improve on their outputs for the ideal Rivers State we are currently building.
This sad incident notwithstanding, we are consoled by the fact that after much permutations and mischievous calculations the PDP Flag was duly given to the authentic owner, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Amaechi to fly the PDP flag in Rivers State as its gubernatorial candidate without any K-leg story this time around. The public could recall that at the same Port Harcourt Liberation Stadium in 2007 those who plays god in PDP then denied the Governor the PDP Flag even after winning the PDP Primaries at the time. With this development, the great feats of the Governor and the caliber of people selected to run the re-election campaign which includes four key leaders of the Princewill Political Associates (PPA), the people of Rivers State and the PDP Leadership can be rest assured that with their hard work and support we will be witnesses to the inauguration of Rt. Hon Amaechi as the next Governor of Rivers State come May, 2011.
For the avoidance of doubt, the 2011 Rt. Hon. Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi Re-election Campaign Team has the following key leaders of PPA as members - Prince Tonye Princewill as a member of the Fund Raising Committee, Chief Dr. Davies Ibiamu Ikeanya the PPA Chairman as the Deputy Chairman of the Logistics Committee, Bar Osima Ginah the PPA Secretary as the Secretary of the Planning Committee, Chief Gani Topba the Mobilization Leader of PPA as a member of Civil Society Committee of the Campaign Team while Chief Eze C Eze the Media Consultant to PPA is a member of the Media Team of the Campaign Team. We expect this trend to progress to the zones; the local governments and the wards were each and every PPA member will be waiting to do what is necessary to make Amaechi 2011 a reality. Our biggest opposition is Complacency and not necessarily the so called opposition political parties in the State.
